9 October 2006, 7pm+ Like the other drivers, we started to keep to the right lane (instead of the usual left lane to head back straight to my home) after exit from PIE towards Tampines st. 22. On the left lane was the accident- a TransCab, and abt a metre away laid a badly damaged bike which had crashed onto a lamppost.. While i was telling Ivan how serious this accident must be and asking if the rider would be alright... There i saw a familiar face, limping towards the damaged bike... i yelled ' its bro'!!! Tears swelled in my eyes... i just couldn't believe it... I'm so afraid, afraid that he might just collapsed any moment from then... afraid if there's any internal injuries.. endless questions i had asked i remembered.. to ensure that he's conscious, he's fine.. Later then i got to know- Instead of alighting his passenger at the side of the road, the cabbie allowed his passenger to get off the cab in middle of the road! And my poor bro, banged into the door of the cab when the passsenger opened it. Except some bruises on his legs and shoulder, Bro's fine! *thank god* To all Bikers: pls pls... though there's lots of unforeseen circumstances, pls do be extremely careful and alert while riding (not forgetting car drivers of course- drive carefully too..) -Elaine- |
